Sweepy A seasoned veteran with thousands of chimney cleanings under his belt, Richard's diagnostic expertise and "hearthside manner" have earned him his title. Forced to retire from his previous career in the high-stress field of restaurant management by four-way bypass surgery, The Flue Doctor chose chimney cleaning as a low-stress alternative that provides a healthy amount of exercise and the opportunity to meet people. Richard has been with us over eight years now, and is our most asked-for Sweep.

In the Summer months when Sweeping slows down, Richard works as First Mate for a cruise ship line, which affords him many opportunities for whale watching and various celebrity-filled adventures, many of which undoubtedly never happened.
