Wood Burning Stoves

All wood stoves except cookstoves, furnaces and site-built fireplaces sold in the U.S. must comply with the EPA Phase II Wood Stove Emissions Regulations. These Federal Standards require that each wood burning stove be tested for particulate emissions and shown to produce fewer than 7.5 grams per hour. These high efficiency, EPA Approved wood stoves are exempt from "burn bans" that local air quality authorities may impose during episodes of high airborne pollution. Washington State has adopted even stricter air quality restrictions, limiting wood stove emissions to 4.5 grams/hr, and requiring that all wood stoves and fireplaces installed in new homes have the ability to draw their combustion air directly into the firebox from outside the house (this eliminates potential health problems deriving from living in an oxygen-poor environment in Winter months when the stove or fireplace is burning). The result of this legislation is that the wood stoves we sell are the healthiest, most efficient and cleanest burning models available.
